Biomass Energy Is The Best Gift Of Nature

Categories: Wintergreen Resort | January 27th, 2010 | by traveller | no comments

Biomass is beneficial.
Consumers in many countries have already switched to alternative forms of energy. This is facilitated by environmental conditions as well as prices for oil and oil products and gas with coal. Moreover don’t forget about the progressive depletion of fossil fuel resources. This means that they are going to disappear very soon. It goes without saying that the quantity of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases with each passing day, as in the past two centuries as an energy source fossil fuels were used. As a result there’s an increase in annual emissions of CO2. For example in 2007, the emissions reached up to 44 billion tons and among them 26 billion tons was the result of our using conventional sources of energy.

The fertile material of plant origin is the natural replacement of fossil fuel resources. For example, vegetable oil and cereals are the raw material for biodiesel and bioethanol. And there’s a byproduct of this production which is the biological gas. Besides this pellets are worth of your attention. They are the product of granulated wood waste and other agricultural waste such as chips, shavings, sawdust, cereal straw, sunflower husks and so on.

The heat derived of pellet combustion and coal combustion can be considered to be almost identical, but the combustion of pellets gives carbon dioxide emissions by 10-50 times less and the formation of ash by 15-20 times less to compare with coal. Thus pellets as are more rational to use in comparison with coal.

Any company that has a constant access to wood waste can produce pellets and gain additional profits. As for the production of wood pellets in the industrial scale I can say that for this purpose the following raw materials are used such as sawn wood, pieces of wood with the presence of bark and much more. The production capacity of these lines is 500 kg / hour. But this is only the initial rate. If required it will be possible to produce pellets with the rate of 1000 kg / hour.

The raw material for the production of wood pellets should be clean. You can also use wood with bark but you should realize that pellets with bark won’t be praised too much. Pellets of this material are in demand for enterprises around the world. The lowest percentage of ash in pellets his achieved by a slight content of the cortex. They are considered to be a premium product and they are suitable for using even in domestic boilers. Thus the market for these products becomes wider. So as you can see you’ll get plenty of opportunities when dealing with wood pellets no matter whether you are going to be a consumer or producer. The main thing is that you’ll be rewarded with certain benefits.

Among different energy saving alternatives, we seriously recommend you to read more about wood pellets.

This is a short list of advantages of using wood pellets. They are not sophisticated; they do not need huge investments into fancy “machinery”; they come from mother nature. Please invest part of your time into reading more about wood pellets - it is really important now.

House Of Your Dream

Pellets will heat you up.
I’d like to draw your attention to such a promising thing as wood pellets. It’s known that during the production of fuel pellets raw materials undergo crushing and then granulating. As the result of those actions mentioned above we get shiny pellets with a smooth surface without cracks and bubbles with a light wood color and light clean smell as well as appropriate parameters.

The combustion of wood pellets in the boiler furnace runs more efficiently to compare with traditional wood logs. The number of ash isn’t more than 0, 5 - 1% of the total number of pellets burnt. It goes without saying that the combustion of wood pellets doesn’t affect negatively the environment. This environmentally friendly fuel can be ignited much easier to compare with conventional wood logs, when some paper and kerosene are required.

So as you can see wood pellets are quite popular throughout the world. Pellets are most commonly used for heating houses and cottages throughout the world. This is due to the fact that heating devices are rather easy to clean after burning this stuff. Pellets produce a very little amount of ash.

It’s known that wood pellets have a big advantage over conventional fuels. The
calorific value of this stuff is equal to 4,3 - 4,5 kW per kilogram , which is 1.5 times higher than the calorific value of wood and it’s quite comparable with coal.
The combustion of 2000 kg of fuel pellets is equal to the same amount of heat energy produced by the combustion of 3200 kg of wood, 957 m3 of gas, 1,000 liters of diesel fuel, and 1,370 liters of fuel oil.

So we consider this stuff to be the “fuel of the future”. What is the reason for the increased interest to this fuel? First, wood pellets are safe raw materials made of wood. While oil and gas grow in value every year wood pellets are quite affordable. Secondly, wood pellets have a high energy density at low volumes occupied. Also, pellets can be transported quite easily and incinerated in automatic furnaces. Thirdly, the ash left from the combustion of wood pellets can used as a fertilizer. In general the amount of ash approaches to 1% of the mass of fuel. The ash is utilized in the current furnaces and boilers once every two years. Fourthly, as wood pellets have a high bulk density they require a little volume of space for their accommodation. If you wish to heat up a living space of 150 m2 then you require about 7,5 m3 of pellets a year. So as you can see wood pellets are God’s gift. By using them you’ll contribute greatly into the process of saving our native planet. Hurry up to order a couple of tons of this stuff for coming winter.

Among different energy saving alternatives, we highly recommend you to read more about wood pellets.

This is a short list of advantages of using wood pellets. They are not high-tech; they do not need huge investments into expensive “machinery”; they come from mother nature. Please invest 5 minutes of your time into reading more about wood pellets - it is really vital now.

The production of wood pellets.
The process of production of pellets is the process of recycling industrial waste into solid fuel to make it suitable for combustion. The most popular material for the production of pellets is wood. Wood pellets can be manufactured from different types of waste wood and agricultural industries such as plant stalks, sawdust and wood chips, nut shells, waste left after processing of sugar cane, sunflower husks, stalks of tobacco, waste in the production of tea, wheat and various other waste materials of the agricultural industry. Furthermore I should stress that the moisture content must be no more than 12% and the size of it mustn’t exceed 55 mm.

This affair starts with shredding of waste wood. When the thickness of unprocessed wood waste for more than 10 mm, and is size is greater than 50mm then it’s not easy to crush this stuff. So for this purpose a special crushing machine is used. In this case this solid waste is crushed with the help of the hammer crusher. This crusher is able to turn this substance into the powder with a particle diameter of about 3 mm.

After this it’s high time to start the process of drying. Experts tell that the normal content of moisture in the material used for pellets is 13-15%. Have a look at the special drum for drying this stuff. It consists of two parts which are the furnace and most of its surface enabling to reduce the moisture content of the material from 60% to 10%. By the way to reduce the cost of electricity sometimes a stove, operating on sawdust can be applied. Certainly you can also use coal, gas and wood logs for this purpose if you can afford this of course. Besides this I want to add something closely connected with the process of drying. In order to prevent the leakage of heat drying drum should be covered with the film outside. This film is made of a special cotton material.

Then the process of granulation is carried out. The granulator is considered to be an essential part of all the equipment for the production of pellets from sawdust. The lubrication of the granulator is controlled by the computer that monitors the temperature of the working surfaces. So if the temperature increases violating established limits then the computer sends a signal to the lubricating system of rollers and the matrix. Thus the problem of wear of granulator moving parts is solved. By the way there’s an opportunity to lubricate moving parts manually. When the substance is passed through the matrix with holes of the established diameter pellets appear in this world. Then they should be packed and delivered to their masters. This unique stuff can make any winter become a pleasant experience.

It is truly amazing how gifted we get when the time comes to be more self sufficient about energy. The energy crisis that is rumored about pushed lots of people to inventing alternative ways of taking care of energy issues. One of the examples - wood pellets which are really effective and ecologically genuine.
